My dad has been a lifelong inspiration to me. Born and raised in Alice Springs, he has spent his entire life in Central Australia—a true Territorian through and through. His deep connection to the land is something that has shaped not only his life but also mine, and now my daughter’s.
Dad has worked across many industries, but his heart has always been with the cattle and the red dirt country. He’s never been afraid of hard work, and he’s shown me the value of resilience, honesty, and staying grounded. Whether it was fixing fences in the heat, working long days on remote stations, or sharing stories of the old days, he’s passed on a love and respect for the land that runs deep in our family.
Now, as I raise my own children here in Alice Springs, I see how his influence continues to grow. They are third generation in our family born here, and they too are falling in love with the place we call home.
